The Morgan County Library is announcing the retirement of Stacey Embry, who is concluding a remarkable 14 years of service to the library, including 10 years as Library Director.
During her time with the Morgan County Library, Embry has provided dedicated leadership and service to the library and the Morgan County community. As Director, she has overseen the library’s daily operations, programs, services, staff, collections, finances, and community partnerships, while working closely with the Library Board of Trustees.
The Morgan County Library Board and staff extend their sincere appreciation to Embry for her many years of commitment, leadership, and service. Her contributions have helped establish and maintain a strong foundation for the library and the community it serves.
“After 14 fulfilling years at the library, I have made the difficult decision to step down from my position as Library Director. I take great pride in all that we have achieved together, and I depart with deep respect for the board, the staff, and the patrons of the Morgan County Library. Thank you for the opportunities, guidance, and trust you have extended to me over the years.” – Embry said.
The Morgan County Library is pleased to announce Christine Michele as its new Library Director.
Michele brings extensive experience in public library leadership, archives, and community service to Morgan County Library. She previously served for five years as the director of a public library in Pennsylvania and has also held leadership positions in academic libraries and archives.
Michele holds a Master of Library and Information Science from UCLA and has experience in library administration, strategic planning, community partnerships, collections, facilities, and programming.
As she begins her role with the Morgan County Library, Michele looks forward to getting to know the Morgan County community, supporting the library’s staff, and working with the Board of Trustees to build on the library’s strong foundation and services.
