Board of Trustees
July 9, 2026
Present: Mary Jo Jackson, Ann Brinson, Melissa Hedrick, Stacey Embry.
Absent: Curtis Cunningham, Kathy Jones.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Mary Jo Jackson at 5:15 PM. It was held at 600 N. Hunter,
Versailles, MO 65084.
Public Comment: A lovely bouquet of flowers was given to the library.
Friends Report: Golf in the Stacks will be July 18, 3-7 PM. Trivia Night at Bees Knees is tentatively scheduled for
September 19. The next meeting will be August 20, 5:30 PM, at the library.
Minutes: Melissa moved, Ann seconded, to accept the June minutes as presented. Motion carried.
Vouchers/Financial Report: Balance as of June 30, 2026, is $474,501.69. Ann moved, Melissa seconded, to accept
the June report as presented. Motion carried.
Director’s Report: The arrival of the Shushbooth is hoped for the end of August. The children’s librarian is
making visits to Headstart during the summer. An annual building maintenance plan is nearing completion. The
Beanstack app played a significant role in the Summer Reading Program.
Old Business: The copier cost increase was tabled until October.
New Business: Mary Jo Jackson’s term was renewed by the county commissioners. The election of officers was
tabled until August.
Ann moved, Melissa seconded, to approve the 2027 calendar that follows established policy. Motion carried.
Issues pertaining to non-resident card policies were briefly noted, with a plan to review such policies in October.
MPLS: Human Resources was reviewed.
