Board of Trustees
August 8, 2024
Present: Curtis Cunningham, Ann Brinson, Melissa Hedrick, Stacey Embry.
Absent: Mary Jo Jackson, Kathy Jones.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Curtis Cunningham at 5:00 PM. It was held at 600 N. Hunter,
Versailles, MO 65084.
Tax Rate Hearing: The 2025 Total Assessed Valuation was reported by the Notice of Aggregate Assessed
Valuation for Political Subdivisions to be $623,033,922. The “Notice of Public Hearing” was previously submitted
for publication in the newspaper, but no public comment was offered.
Public Comment: A donation was given to the library by a local Al-Anon group.
Friends Report: Library Trivia Night will be September 19, 6:30 PM, at Bee’s Knees. The next Friends meeting is
scheduled for August 15, 5:30 PM, at the library.
Minutes: Melissa moved, Ann seconded, to accept the July 11, 2024 minutes as presented. Motion carried.
Vouchers/Financial Report: Balance as of July 31, 2024, is $430,586.97. Ann moved, Melissa seconded, to accept
the report as presented. Motion carried.
Director’s Report: Summer Reading Program nearly doubled its attendance from last year, with a total of 1243
patrons participating. Potential supplements to the library’s audio resources under consideration. Three staff
members are headed to the MLA conference this year. The part time position has been filled, and the new
employee has begun work.
Old Business: None
New Business: Ann moved, Melissa seconded, to accept the Community Room policy as revised. Motion carried.
The Bulletin Board/Petition and Solicitation and Distribution of Literature on District Property policies were
tabled until next meeting.
