The library is excited to welcome families and teens to this year’s Summer Reading Program filled with fun, educational, and hands-on The library is excited to welcome families and teens to this year’s Summer Reading Program filled with fun, educational, and hands-on activities throughout the month of June. Programs are available for ages 0-17, with special activities designed for both children and teens.

Story Time will take place every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. and is open to young readers and their families.

Youth activities for ages 0-11 are led by Youth Services Librarian Brittany Shewmaker, while teen activities for ages 12-17 are led by Hannah Rayl, MCR-II Middle School Teacher.

Some highlighted June activities include:

  • June 10 – The Master Gardeners will visit the library for a hands-on planting activity for kids ages 0-11.
  • June 10 – Teens ages 12-17 can participate in Dino Lab Wraps, where they will make their own wraps to eat.
  • June 17 – SFCC Nursing Students will host a Kids Carnival at the library featuring fun, interactive booths teaching essential safety tips.
  • June 24 – Show-Me Dinosaurs will visit the library for a special dinosaur-themed program.

Throughout the Summer Reading Program, participants can also continue completing their reading challenges. Keep reading and logging activities to earn tickets for the grand prize drawings.

The Summer Reading Program encourages children and teens to keep reading and learning throughout the summer while enjoying exciting activities at the library.
