Present: Lena Menning, Stacey Embry, Mary Jo Jackson, Curtis Cunningham, Ann Brinson.
Absent Kathy Jones.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Mary Jo Jackson at 5:15 p.m. It was held at 600 N. Hunter, Versailles, MO 65084.
Public Comment: none.
Minutes: Ann moved, Lena seconded, to accept the September 2, 2022 minutes as presented. Motion carried.
Vouchers/Financial Report: Current balance as of September 30, 2022, is $255,206.62. Curtis moved, Ann seconded, to accept the report as presented. Motion carried.
- Circulation remains consistent with the usual patterns.
- The MLA conference provided some very good ideas with regard to book promotion by staff and patrons, “pop-up” book borrowing events in the community, sustainability installations for libraries, and administrative topics, among other things.
- Lagers will need to do an audit of the library staff and its needs prior to offering a bid on a retirement product.
- Door counter project is moving forward.
Old Business: Curtis moved, Lena seconded, to accept the smoking policy, newly named “Drug and Alcohol Policy,” as revised. Motion carried.
New Business: The Friends of the Morgan County Library has not met since the last library board meeting, but the Imagination Library project continues to move forward.
Lena moved, Curtis seconded, to remove the library fines from the circulation policy. Motion carried.
The Children’s Services Librarian job description was reviewed.
Pursuant of Section 610.021.3, Lena moved, Curtis seconded, to move to closed session. Motion carried by the following roll call vote: Lena, Yes; Curtis, Yes; Ann, Yes; Mary Jo, Yes.
Adjournment: Curtis moved, Lena Seconded, to adjourn at 6:11 PM. Motion carried.
